How the automatic movement works

We always advise first-time automatic buyers to understand one thing upfront: this watch runs on motion, not electricity. Wear it daily and it keeps itself wound. Leave it in a drawer for two days and it will stop, and you will need to reset the time and date.

That is normal behaviour for every automatic watch, not a fault. A few hand-winds through the crown will restart it in seconds.

Sizing and fit

At 42mm wide and 16mm deep this is a full-size watch. The 24cm strap length covers wrists from 6.5" to 8" comfortably. On wrists under 6.5", the case will sit wide and the strap will need extra holes.

The 16mm case height sits high on the wrist, so it wears better with casual sleeves than tailored cuffs.

Care and handling

• 3 ATM means splash resistance only — remove it before showering, swimming or washing up
• Wind the crown 20 to 30 turns if the watch has stopped, then set the time
• Keep the leather strap dry; wipe with a soft cloth and let it air out after warm days
• Automatic movements run best when worn regularly, so rotate it into your weekly wear
